North Beach Tortilla Co. Opens in Santa Rosa Beach
Chef Jim Shirley’s Newest Establishment Now Open on the Choctawhatchee Bay with 100 Tequilas, Tacos and More.
North Beach Tortilla Co. (NBTC), a taco and tequila bar that sits at the foot of the Clyde B. Wells (Highway 331) Bridge across from The Bay Restaurant in South Walton, is now open. Overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay, the restaurant has a large covered deck for outdoor seating along with a wraparound bar featuring a selection of 100 tequilas, craft cocktails, and draft beer. The menu is a mix of Spanish, Southwestern, and Florida cuisine – with a strong emphasis on fresh, made-from-scratch food using carefully sourced ingredients and authentic cooking methods. For Chef Jim Shirley, his staff, and guests, it’s a hangout where ‘Tacos Grow On Trees and Tequila Always Wins.’
The structure was originally built from the pylons of an old drawbridge, but has since been spruced up with some cool features including a glass wall that looks out on the white sand beach and the bay. Inside you’ll find art depicting a Taco Tree by renowned local artist, Andy Saczynski. The exterior has been painted with a beautiful, crisp white paint. The building itself has for many years been a welcoming landmark for everyone coming and going to South Walton.
NBTC is open daily from 4-10PM. Menu is available at
