NEWS RELEASE Sheriff Adkinson Recognizes Civil Process Unit For Immediate Release May 17, 2011 Walton County Sheriff Michael A. Adkinson, Jr. today recognizes members of the Civil Process Unit for their exemplary performance in 2010. “The Civil Process Unit may be small in staff, but it continues to post high performance numbers,” said Sheriff Adkinson. “I commend the team’s dedication and tenacity in supporting the judicial system.” “This is a detailed-oriented position,” said Civil Clerk Shelia Whitaker. “During my 11-year tenure, I have been fortunate to assist the community in providing quick and efficient service.” In 2010, the Civil Process Unit processed 6,557 civil documents and served 6,543. This equates to a 99.7 percent service rate. The Civil Process Unit is staffed by Civil Clerk Sheila Whitaker, Deputy Robert McLendon and Deputy Amelia Clark. The team is responsible for receiving and entering documents into the court’s computer database and serving many types of paperwork. These documents include writs, subpoenas, summons, eviction notices, divorce documents and child custody orders.
