Board-certified urologist brings FDA-approved BTL Emsella technology to Thrive, offering a non-invasive solution for incontinence and sexual wellness.
– Dr. Matthew Loughlin and Suzanne Clark, LCSW, have announced the launch of BTL EMSELLA at Thrive Alternative Medicine. This FDA-approved technology is designed to address urinary incontinence and pelvic floor health through a completely non-invasive, walk-in, walk-out treatment.
Using High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology, the EMSELLA chair stimulates the entire pelvic floor and delivers the equivalent of more than 10,000 Kegel exercises in a single 28-minute session. This process helps “re-educate” the muscles, restore neuromuscular control, and improve quality of life for those affected by childbirth, menopause, and aging.
Although incontinence is extremely common, many women do not seek treatment. According to the National Association for Continence, 5 out of 10 women do not get help, even though the condition can have a serious impact on confidence, comfort, and overall well-being. Men may also benefit from this technology, particularly those experiencing symptoms such as waking several times during the night to use the restroom.
“Given how common these issues are, it always surprises me that women keep it to themselves while suffering in silence,” said Suzanne Clark, LCSW, Clinic Director. “The non-invasive nature of this treatment makes it approachable. Our patients are relieved to find a solution that doesn’t involve surgery or downtime, allowing them to reclaim their confidence, return to activities like pickleball, and enjoy greater daily comfort.”
Thrive Alternative Medicine sets itself apart by bridging physical health and behavioral wellness. Dr. Loughlin brings board certification in Urology to the practice, while Suzanne Clark and Robert Fowler, DBH, LCSW, provide the psychological and behavioral health support that can play an important role in a patient’s recovery and quality of life.
“I saw too many patients suffering with issues where traditional medicine alone wasn’t enough,” said Dr. Matthew Loughlin. “By combining advanced clinical technology like EMSELLA with behavioral health expertise, we are helping the Panama City Beach community actually thrive rather than just manage symptoms.”
A recent clinical study demonstrated that 100% of patients had better awareness of pelvic floor muscles as a result of treatment, while 95% of patients reported satisfaction and significant improvement in quality of life following six treatments with BTL EMSELLA.
For optimal results, Dr. Loughlin recommends a series of six twice-weekly 28-minute treatments for urinary incontinence, and ten once-weekly treatments for sexual wellness concerns such as ED. Treatments take place in a serene, private suite.
