Walton County Announces Paid Parking at Grayton Beach and Other South Walton Lots

Walton County has announced a new paid parking program that will begin this spring at several municipal parking locations in South Walton. The program is intended to help support essential county services while maintaining affordability for local residents.

Beginning April 3, 2026, paid parking will be implemented at the following municipal parking lots:

  • Van Ness Butler Municipal Parking Lot

  • County Road 393 Municipal Parking Lot

  • Grayton Beach Municipal Parking Lot

All other Walton County municipal parking lots will remain free of charge.

Low-Cost Parking Permit for Walton County Residents

To minimize the impact on local residents, Walton County will offer an annual resident parking permit for just $5 per year. Walton County residents can apply for the permit online.

Purpose of the Paid Parking Program

According to Walton County officials, the program is designed to help fund county services while ensuring that visitors contribute to the maintenance and operation of public facilities.

“We recognize that changes to parking policies may be concerning for residents. We’re implementing this program to ensure the long-term sustainability of County operations with a fee structure that minimizes the impact on residents while ensuring that visitors contribute to the upkeep of public facilities.”

How Parking Revenue Will Be Used —- Revenue generated from the paid parking program will be distributed as follows: 60% will support Walton County operations and public services 40% will cover the operational costs of the parking management vendor

The program will be administered by PCI Municipal, LLC, a private vendor responsible for managing permits, payment processing, onsite safety, and customer service.

Beach Tram Service Remains Free

Walton County also confirmed that tram services to public beaches will continue to operate free of charge from municipal parking lots.
