A Childhood Classic — Reinvented, The Ice Cream Truck

30A, Santa Rosa Beach FL — Beginning in April 2026, a familiar childhood sound will return to neighborhoods along 30A — but this time with a modern upgrade.

Alsies, the Chapel Hill, North Carolina–founded company that has reimagined the classic American ice cream truck, is officially launching in the 30A area. The concept blends nostalgia with real-time technology, offering gourmet treats alongside app-based tracking and on-demand stops.

🍦 A Childhood Classic — Reinvented

Alsies was built around a simple idea: bring back the joy of the ice cream truck while solving its biggest problem — unpredictability.

Through the Alsies mobile app, families can:

  • Track the truck in real time

  • Receive text alerts before neighborhood visits

  • Request the truck on demand

  • View menus, routes, and event stops

“We started Alsies to spread joy throughout the community,” said Travis Kososki, founder and CEO of Alsies. “So often it’s the little things that become the biggest memories. Alsies is about bringing that feeling back—hearing the music, seeing the truck roll in, and sharing those moments together.”

The trucks keep the nostalgic look (and the music), but the experience is upgraded with modern tracking and on-demand stopping.

📍 Locally Owned on 30A

The 30A location is locally owned and operated by Matthew and Alina Behrens, a husband-and-wife team bringing the Alsies experience to the community.

“I work with people every day, and this feels like a really positive extension of that,” said Alina Behrens, owner of Alsies 30A. “The technology helps us stay on track and communicate clearly with customers, but what people remember is the music and the truck pulling up.”

“We’ve always wanted to build something together,” Matthew said. “I’ve spent my career focused on long-term growth and financial stability, and this felt like a way to apply that to something that actually brings joy to people.”

The couple says Alsies 30A will also focus heavily on community involvement through:

  • School visits

  • Fundraisers

  • Community events

  • Neighborhood routes and private stops

“As a locally owned business, we want this to feel like part of the neighborhood,” Alina said. “It’s not just about a truck driving through; it’s school visits, fundraisers, and community events. We want to be involved.”

🍨 What’s on the Menu

Alsies offers more than standard novelty treats. Expect a curated lineup including:

  • Gourmet ice cream sandwiches

  • Classic character bars

  • Locally made popsicles

  • Gluten-free and dairy-free options

“This week is really special for us,” Matthew said. “After months of planning, seeing the truck actually roll through neighborhoods here in 30A is exciting. The technology makes it easier for families to know when we’re coming, but the real moment is when you see kids run outside.”

📲 How to Find the Truck

Families can use the Alsies mobile app to track the truck in real time and get notified before it enters their neighborhood. The 30A rollout begins in April 2026.
