The Walton County Board of County Commissioners is proud to announce Rachel Jenkins as the county’s new Public Information Officer.
Jenkins, who is originally from DeFuniak Springs, is no stranger to Walton County, having served as the Planning Office Manager and Planning Coordinator in the Planning Department for the previous 6 years.
Rachel graduated from Walton High School before earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Troy University and returning to the area to pursue her career.
Her intimate knowledge of Walton County and experience serving the community are tremendous assets to the county. As the public information officer, Jenkins will serve as the conduit between Walton County government, its various departments, the business community, media organizations and county residents.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to serve Walton County in this role,” said Jenkins. “As a proud native, this county is near and dear to my heart, so I look forward to building a relationship of trust with the community by providing clear and concise communication.”
Rachel can be reached by calling (850) 892-8155 or emailing JenRachel@co.walton.fl.us.
