The Visual & Performing Arts Division of Gulf Coast State College presents A Place Within, paintings by Victoria Rose Phillips. Many of the paintings in this exhibit were created in Skopelos, Greece, where Mrs. Phillips completed an artist residency at the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts. While there she was inspired by the mountainous landscapes paired with the endless ocean views. Victoria Phillips graduated with a BA in Visual Arts in 2013 from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. She earned her MFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019. She has also exhibited with the VAN GOGH Art Gallery for an International Art Fair in Monaco. She resides in Atlanta, GA where she has a studio at Mutiny Artwrx. She is an adjunct Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State University and a full time Visual Arts Educator.
• The exhibit runs from February 8 – March 5
• The work will be on display in the Amelia Center Gallery (AC 112). Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• On February 12, 1:00 p.m., Victoria will present an artist lecture via Zoom.
• Admission is free and open to the public.
• Face coverings (masks) are required to be worn while in college facilities.
