For Immediate Release February 4, 2011 Correctional Officer Colonel Greg Malloy, 44, was fatally wounded Feb. 2 in an exchange of gunfire with suspect Wade Williams. Colonel Malloy was working as part of the Holmes Correctional Institution K-9 tracking team. The suspect, wanted for the double homicide of his parents, was fatally wounded during the exchange. A viewing for family and friends of Colonel Malloy is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5 from 5 p.m. to approximately 9 p.m. in the Walton High School auditorium, located at 449 Walton Road in DeFuniak Springs, Fla.  The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Walton High School auditorium.  A graveside service will be held immediately after the funeral at Darlington Baptist Church, located at 4751 State Highway 2 East, Westville, Fla.  Media parking will be available at the funeral and gravesite.  A staging area will be setup on the second floor of the auditorium during the funeral services.  The Walton County Sheriff’s Office will direct traffic Sunday, Feb. 6 on Walton Road and State Highway 2.  These roadways will be temporarily closed from approximately 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.   For Further Information Contact: Mike Morrison Public Information Officer Walton County Sheriff’s Office (850) 951-4959 (office) (850) 401-4612 (cell)
