Walton County Solid Waste Department has announced the latest additions to the county’s Recycling Trailer locations. New trailers are now available at:
Black Creek Community Store – 25 McDaniel’s Fish Camp Road
Emerald Coast Middle School – 6694 W County Highway 30A
Portland Community Center – 88 Site C-6 Road
King Lake Fire Department – 3910 Kings Lake Road
Walton Vo-Tech School – N 20th Street, DeFuniak Springs
District 4 Commissioner Office – 417 Highway 20, Freeport
Walton High School – Walton Road
Muscogee Nation Tribal Office – 278 Church Road, Bruce
Rosemary Beach – Southeast corner of Winston Lane and US Highway 98
South Walton High School – 645 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach
Recyclable materials that can be placed in blue recycling trailers include:
Cans – aluminum, tin, and steel such as fruit, vegetable, and dog food cans
Glass – bottles and jars without lids, not plate glass
Paper – newspaper, phone books, paperback books and magazines except for glossy pages
Plastics: No. 1 & No. 2 (located on the containers, usually the bottom and in a triangle consisting of three chasing arrows)
Recycling is now more available in Walton County
- No. 1, examples: soda and water bottles, medicine containers, clear plastic containers.
- No. 2, examples: milk jugs, coffee, detergent and bleach containers, shampoo bottles, etc. (any color)
