U.S. 98 Project Development and Environment Study From C.R. 30A near Sandestin to West of Phillips Inlet Bridge

Walton County –  /strong> – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public hearing concerning the U.S. 98 widening Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from CR 30A near Sandestin to west of Phillips Inlet Bridge in Walton County, on Thursday, November 13. The hearing will begin with an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CST), followed by a formal presentation and public comment period beginning at 6:00 p.m.

How to Participate

Citizens may participate in either the virtual public hearing at www.nwflroads.com/calendar or attend in person at the Vision Church – Gymnasium, 5200 U.S. 98, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459. Pre-registration is required for the virtual format and encouraged for in-person attendees.

About the Project

This hearing provides an opportunity for the public to review and comment on proposed improvements to add capacity on U.S. 98 by widening the roadway from four to six lanes between C.R. 30A and west of Phillips Inlet Bridge. U.S. 98 is a critical east/west roadway and serves as a hurricane evacuation route. The study covers a total distance of 19.4 miles, and interchange concepts are being evaluated at U.S. 98 and U.S. 331.
