In May of 2020, Walton County contracted with WildStar Networks to design, install, maintain and run a fixed wireless broadband network that will offer high-speed internet service to all Walton County residents.
Fixed wireless is the operation of wireless communication devices used to connect two fixed locations with a wireless link, i.e. building to building or tower to building. This will work by installing antennas on towers in strategic areas that will send a signal and connect to an antenna on a home that will bring Internet into the residence.
WildStar Networks has launched their pre-registration form to allow Walton County residents to pre-register for service as the company’s system comes online.
In Walton County, WildStar will offer the following services with a $100 installation fee:
* Basic 25 – 25Mbps down and 3Mbps for as low as $45 per month* Enhanced 100 – 100Mbps down and 20Mbps for as low as $60 per month
With each plan, customers will have the ability to choose a 24-month contract, 12-month contract or a no-contract option. Costs will be based on the plan chosen by the customer.
