Panama City, FL – Gulf Coast State College’s Visual & Performing Arts division is proud to present “Anderson and Feinstein – Two Painters” art exhibit.
This exhibition features work by Christon Anderson and Al Feinstein, two men who are quite different from each other; they come from different parts of the country, cultural backgrounds and generations. What they do have in common, is a lifelong love of painting. While neither man made his living from art, each sees art and art making as an inseparable part of his identity. It is how they process and interact with the world. Both artists are particularly adept at the language of abstraction and deftly use lines, shapes, colors and textures to convey emotion and provoke thought. Their artwork is bold, dynamic and often reaches the audience on a visceral level with a raw, unpolished quality making it both accessible and memorable. While abstraction is their common language, each artists speaks his own dialect which reflects his unique sensibilities and experience. The exhibit is an opportunity to see these artists side by side, to explore similarities and appreciate the differences while finding a shared humanity through abstraction.
