SPACES STILL OPEN FOR EMERALD COAST THEATRE COMPANY SPRING 2020 EDUCATION CLASSES
ECTC celebrates continued success during its seventh season for its educational programs and continues its partnership with the Florida Chautauqua Theatre
Miramar Beach, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2020) — Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) continues to see the fruits of its labor during its seventh season, celebrating new attendance records for educational final performances as well as the continuing partnership with the Florida Chautauqua Theatre in DeFuniak Springs.
“ECTC was founded because of the need for educational theatre opportunities in our community,” said Anna Fisher, ECTC’s Associate Artistic and Education Director. “We are thrilled with the growth we have seen at our Grand Boulevard location, and we are so excited about the new partnership with the Florida Chautauqua Theatre in DeFuniak Springs.”
ECTC has increased the duration of its educational programs for its youngest cast members, the Little Rascals. ECTC Kids and Teens programs continue to span roughly 13 weeks.
All programs are offered at either ECTC’s performance space at 560 Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach or at the Florida Chautauqua Theatre at 848 Baldwin Ave. in DeFuniak Springs.

“Disney’s 101 Dalmatians”
Jan. 16 – Apr. 2 for K (5 year olds) and 1st grade (6-7 year olds), Thursdays 3-3:50 p.m. at ECTC. Performance on Apr. 4 at 2 p.m.
Jan. 16 – Apr. 23 for K (5 year olds) and 1st grade (6-7 year olds), Thursdays 3-3:45 p.m. at FCT. Performances on Apr. 24 at 7 p.m. and Apr. 25 at 2 p.m.
Who let the dogs out? Join ECTC this spring as ECTC brings “101 Dalmatians” to life. Little Rascals will be learning the basics of theatre while enjoying singing and dancing to music from “101 Dalmatians.” They will learn all about stage directions, singing, costume making and more as they prepare to take the stage with ECTC’s 101 Dalmatians elementary school groups in the large-scale performance of their spring shows. $145 per person.

Jan. 16 – Apr. 2, 2nd-3rd grade, Thursdays, 4:00-5:30 p.m. at ECTC. Performance on Apr. 4 at 2 p.m.
Jan. 16 – Apr. 23, 2nd-5th grade, Thursdays, 3:00-4:20 p.m. at FCT. Performances on Apr. 24 at 7 p.m. and Apr. 25 at 2 p.m.
Earn your spots as ECTC barks out the story of 101 Dalmatians. Based on the classic animated film, “Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS” is a fur-raising adventure featuring Cruella de Vil, Disney’s most outrageous villain, and 101 of the most adorable heroes to set their paws onstage. Join ECTC as they dive deeper into theatre with song, dance, costuming, and all the fun things it can teach you. $360 per person.

“High School Musical 2 Jr.”
Jan. 11 – Apr. 18, 6th-12th grade, Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at ECTC. Performances on Apr. 17 at 7 p.m. and Apr. 18 at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.
Jan. 16 – Apr. 30, 6th-12th grade, Thursdays, 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at FCT. Performances on May 1 at 7 p.m. and May 2 at 2 p.m.
What time is it? Time to welcome back your favorite East High students in Disney Channel’s sequel to the smash hit musical. Join your fellow Wildcats — this time for a summer break that promises hard work and fun in the sun, dancing, and, of course, plenty of catchy songs to sing no matter what challenges these East High students encounter along the way! Cost is $375 per person.
Teen Theater & Film Intensive
Feb. 15 – May 16, 5th-12th grade, Saturdays, 1:30-4:30 p.m. at ECTC.
This spring, Emerald Coast Theatre Company will be offering an exciting opportunity for young Thespians from 5th grade through high school. In addition to coaching monologues, songs, duets, and scenes, ECTC will be focusing on creating new works in film and theater. As an ensemble, the class will be building a piece of devised theater by taking a short story and turning it into a one-act through collaborative and improvisatory movement based work. ECTC will also be providing an opportunity for aspiring directors, writers, and actors to explore the medium of film. In addition to opportunities to perform in the community throughout the spring, the semester will be ending with a spectacular spring showcase on the last day of class. $350 per person.
Spring Break Showstoppers
Mar. 16 – 20, 2nd-5th grade, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at ECTC.
This spring break, ECTC will be putting together a Theatre Showcase, starring your child. Harnessing their unique talents, students will perform a scene or musical numbers from the hit Broadway shows they have always wanted to be in. This camp will focus on your child learning about themselves and their strengths. Work together and watch your student step up to their full potential. $150 per person.
A $25 non-refundable registration fee is required. Tuition may be split into payments. Payment plans, sibling, and military discounts are available.
