RESORT COLLECTION HOSTS KID’S COOKING CAMP
3rd Annual Hands-on Culinary Education Program Designed for Kids & Young Teens
Panama City Beach, Fla. – Resort Collection, known as the industry leader in property management for 30 years, will host its third annual Cookin’ at the Beach! culinary program for kids and young teenagers at Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort. Taking place July 8, 2019 through July 12, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., 24 students will spend their days in the resort’s industrial kitchen with hands-on instruction from Resort Collection executive chef, Philippe Olivier Robles. A graduation ceremony will commence
on Friday, July 12th, and feature a student-prepared meal for their family members, and an official certificate presentation.
The class curriculum is based on active learning strategies and guided practice designed to provide nutrition information, culinary skills, food safety, cultural diversity, team building and self-esteem as they learn about making wise food choices for a lifetime of good health. “The kids know the My Pyramid from school but until recently, no one was giving them information about how to shop for and prepare nutritious meals,” executive chef Philippe Robles said. “Teaching children to cook has been the most
rewarding activity we have ever undertaken, and once you start you will agree that this program can be one piece in the puzzle of putting our communities back on the road to a healthy future.”
Resort Collection is proud to bring a positive and productive initiative to our community year after year and all media is invited to attend and witness the joy these “junior chefs” radiate while cooking. For more information, please contact Catherine Collins at CCollins@ResortCollection.com.
