The Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (NWFL Coast FPRA) is pleased to announce a line-up of incredible speakers to headline their Professional Development Luncheon Series this summer.
Hosted at Osaka Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi and sponsored by BeachyCations Vacation Rentals, this month’s luncheon will be held June 18 from 11:30am – 1pm and features Major Caitlin Brown, Director of Public Affairs for the Florida National Guard. The topic, “Florida’s Force: Telling Your Story in the Eye of the Storm” will focus on crisis communications.
As hurricane season begins, June’s professional development meeting will provide guests the opportunity to learn about of the Guard’s heroic efforts during Florida’s recent hurricanes and the team that told their story. Major Brown will discuss how her public affairs team handled crisis communications in the eye of the storm, lessons they learned, and best practices. At this educational program, attendees will learn from the Guard’s communication capabilities and challenges, how to share damaging information, and what steps to take before, during, and after a crisis.
Hosted on July 16, Allyson Lundell, Senior Director of PR for Universal Studios in Orlando will present “Halloween Horror Nights: Scary Good PR.” The summer series will conclude on August 20 with a panel of social media influencers discussing how to best work with influencers to maximize reach and brand exposure. All luncheons also include the opportunity to network with top area professionals. More information about the locations and speakers for July and August will be announced later this summer.
Held the third Tuesday of each month, advance registration for each luncheon is $15 for members and $25 for non-members and includes lunch provided by a local area restaurant.
