ARTISTS INVITED  TO SUBMIT FOR  2019 ARTSQUEST

The Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) of Walton County invites artists to apply to exhibit in the 31st Annual ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival happening May 11 – 12, 2019 in South Walton, FL, along Northwest Florida’s beaches. Artists who apply before January 31, 2019 will receive an early bird jury and booth rate fee. Artists are invited to apply in the categories of Mixed Media, Ceramics, Works on Paper, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Oils & Acrylics, Photography, Digital Art, Sculpture, and Wood (including furniture). ArtsQuest is the kick-off event for Art Month South Walton, which is an initiative of the CAA. The purpose of Art Month is to bring communities, organizations and businesses together to present quality arts and entertainment to the community. Spanning the month of May, Art Month features visual, performing and literary arts programming in diverse formats and various venues throughout South Walton. The ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival takes place in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin’s Town Center, which is also home to large-scale events such as the 30A Songwriters Festival and the South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival. Located along the Scenic Hwy. 98 Corridor, Grand Boulevard is easily accessible from regional drive and fly markets, including Houston, Memphis, Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, Mobile, Pensacola and Tallahassee. Grand Boulevard and the surrounding area offer affordable accommodations, including hotels, camping and condo and home rentals. Limited discounted hotel accommodations will be offered to artists on a first-come, first-served basis. Artists applying before the early bird deadline of January 31, 2019 will receive an early bird discount on their jury fee ($40) and booth fee (starting at $300). Beginning February 1, jury fees will increase to $45 and booth fees will increase to $325 and up. The final application deadline is March 8, 2019. Jurying is by art industry professionals. Previous year award winners from the 2018 ArtsQuest show do not need to submit jury fee and will be automatically admitted into the 2019 ArtsQuest show should they meet the application deadline. Repeat attendance by the public insures potential multi-year sales. Artist amenities and staff/volunteer attention to details and artists’ needs are considered exceptional. Awards are given based on the Judges’ scoring of each artist’s body of work as displayed in the booth.
