EMERALD COAST THEATRE COMPANY EXPANDS
FALL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WITH
‘DRAMATIC’ OFFERINGS FOR ADULTS, TEENS AND KIDS
Miramar Beach, Fla. (August 6, 2018) — Calling all ‘drama queens’ (and kings) to take the stage and take part in Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s (ECTC) Fall 2018 Theater Educational Programs serving all ages.
“Fall means back to school and not just for the little ones,” said ECTC producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “We are excited to offer educational classes and workshops for all ages. Theatre is for one and all, and so are the offerings in our Fall 2018 series. We realize most of the school’s in our community cannot offer the theater arts and so we are thrilled to be able to supplement with our professional education programs.”
ECTC Adult Class:
Broadway Birdies
Sept. 13-Nov. 15, 9-10:15 a.m.
Step up and join ECTC’s dynamic teaching artist in our fabulous Broadway Birdies dance class. During our exploration of the best of Broadway, you will enjoy a welcoming, low impact, move at your own pace environment. No previous experience or skill set is needed. Just come as you are and be prepared to have fun. Cost is $125 per person.
ECTC Little Rascals:
“Peter Pan”
Aug. 23-Oct. 11
Pre-K (4 year olds)-1st grade (6 year olds), Thursdays 3-3:50 p.m.
Join us as our Little Rascals bring to life the classic tale of Peter Pan with pirates, mermaids and kids that never grow up! Designed specifically for our youngest players, our Little Rascals class allows students to explore acting, singing, and movement in an energetic, nurturing environment that fosters creativity and collaboration. This class will will culminate with a mini play and music performance on the last day of class! Cost is $160 per person.
ECTC Kids:
“Disney’s Sleeping Beauty”
Classes: Aug. 21-Nov. 10, 3rd-5th Grade every Tuesdays 4:30-6:30 p.m.
1st-3rd Grade Thursdays 4-6 p.m.
Performances: 3rd-5th grade Nov. 9 at 7p.m., Nov.10 at 7p.m.
1st-3rd grade Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.
Based on one of the most treasured Disney animated films of all time, and featuring some of the world’s most memorable songs, Disney’s Sleeping Beauty KIDS is pure, delightful magic!
Lots of parts are available for boys and girls. Come join our enchanted adventure and get a chance to act, sing, dance, and have lots of fun! Cost is $340 per person.
ECTC Teens:
“Spamalot”
Classes: Aug. 25-Nov. 3, every Saturday
Performances: Nov. 2 at 7 p.m., Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.
8th-12th Grade at 9-11:30 a.m.
6th & 7th Grade 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Calling all Knights and Ladies of the Lake. This story centers around King Arthur and his search for the Holy Grail. Journey with us on a madcap adventure with plenty of music, dancing and silliness (with parts for everyone). What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? Join our Saturday tribe and find out the answer to this and other very important life questions. Cost is $370 per person.
Creative Dramatics:
“Dolittle and Company”
Grades 3-5, Rehearsals Wednesdays, 4:30-6 p.m., Aug. 22-Oct. 24, with a performance on the last day of class.
If we could talk with the animals, what would they say? Creative Dramatics students will work together to write and perform their very own script based off the beloved 1920’s book “Doctor Dolittle” by Hugh Lofting. Let your imagination run free and you might just find the answer to the question “What does the fox say?” Cost is $320 per person.
ECTC Homeschool:
“Big Al”
2nd to 6th grade, Aug. 23-Dec. 13, 11a.m.-noon
Rehearsals will take place at Rise Dance Studio in Destin
Come join us as we embark on an adventure under the sea. As a class, we will create a play based on the children’s book “Big Al.” Students will explore imaginative surroundings and discover inner courage while developing their unique stage presence. You will also get a chance to unleash your creativity and design your very own aquatic costume. There will be a performance on the last day of class for friends and family. Cost is $275 per person.

Registration fees vary per class from $125 to $370 per person. Payment plans, sibling, and military discounts are available.
