Old Florida Fish House Raises Thousands for Alaqua Animal Refuge During Fourth Annual Wreath Event
Seagrove Beach, Fla. (December 18, 2017) – Old Florida Fish House held its Fourth Annual Wreaths for Alaqua event, benefitting Alaqua Animal Refuge, on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. The event raised $7,565 for Alaqua, surpassing last year’s event by nearly $2,000.
Auctioneer Helen “Redd” Vizard vivaciously auctioned off 23 wreaths created by local artists, businesses, and individuals especially for this event. The wreaths, some of which were packaged with bonus items and gift certificates, went to the highest bidder during this festive holiday fundraiser for Alaqua.
“It was incredible to see how the wreath makers stepped it up a notch this year,” says Alaqua Animal Refuge Communications Director Mary Chris Murry. “The wreaths were incredibly creative and beautiful, and were packaged with so many goodies! Items on wreaths ranged from gift cards and ornaments all the way to teeth whitening systems, jewelry, and a charter fishing trip.”
