EMERALD COAST THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES REGISTRATION DETAILS FOR FALL 2017 EDUCATIONAL THEATER PROGRAMS
Miramar Beach, Fla. (Aug. 1, 2017) — Calling all Emerald Coast junior thespians to find their place on the stage. Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) announces details of its fifth anniversary season of Educational Theatre Programming on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast.
“Nothing warms my heart more that seeing the glow and smile of a child enjoying their time on the stage under the lights,” said ECTC producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “As ECTC enters its 5th season we are excited to offer Emerald Coast families a world class educational theatre experience with programs designed for elementary school children and more advanced programs for middle school children.”
ECTC — a non-profit professional theater company founded by Nathanael Fisher, MFA, and his wife, Anna, in 2012 with a mission to enrich and entertain the Emerald Coast community through professional and educational theater — offers a series of Educational Theatre Productions designed for kids from first grade to 10th grade.
The 2017-18 season will be presented in the Fall and Spring at ECTC’s performing space located at 560 Grand Boulevard in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin in Miramar Beach, unless noted otherwise.
Fall 2017 dates, times, age group and tuition pricing for each offering are as follows:
“The Addams Family”
Teens (6th-10th grade)
Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, is all grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows. She’s fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family. With his cherished Morticia in the dark, will Gomez manage to keep his daughter’s secret until the two families meet for a fateful dinner with hilarious consequences? Join them, plus Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley and more for a heartwarming story of love, family, and friendship… with a twist!
Rehearsals will be Saturdays will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Tuesday, Aug. 15-Thursday, Nov. 2. Performances will be staged on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.. and Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled on Tuesday afternoons as needed.
Tuition for “The Addams Family” is $320 per child and can be paid in payments.
“Disney Aristocats Kids”
1st-3rd and 3rd-5th grade
Based on the beloved Disney animated film, this show is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionaires wills her estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it’s time for the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day.
The rehearsal schedule is Tuesday, Aug. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 9 (depending on age group) with performances Friday, Nov. 10 and 11 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. The times are as follows: Grades 3rd-5th –Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m.; Grades 1st-3rd – Thursdays from 4-6 p.m.; Grades 2nd-8th (at Gulf Coast State College) – Saturdays (beginning Aug. 19) from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled on Saturdays as needed.
Tuition for “Disney Artistocrats Kids” is $295 per child, which can be split into payments.
ECTC Homeschool Theatre Program
2nd-6th grade
These fun, one-hour classes are designed to allow students to explore the theater art form. Students will learn improvisation skills, acting techniques, storytelling techniques, theater games, and physical and vocal warm ups. This is the perfect class for imaginative kids who love to play and move. At the end of the semester students will showcase their creative original works for family and friends. This program will be held at Rise Dance Center in Destin, located in the Plantation Shopping Plaza located at 4489 Commons Drive West, Suite A-B. Rehearsals are Aug. 17- Thursday, Dec. 14, 11a.m.-noon.
Tuition for ECTC Homeschool Theater program is $295 per child.
A $25 registration fee is required for all programs.
