THE ROTARY CLUB OF DESTIN HOSTS 5th ANNUAL CAJUN CRAWFISH BASH, MAY 5
Destin, Florida (March 31, 2016) — The Rotary Club of Destin will host its 5THAnnual Cajun Crawfish Bash with a twist of Cinco de Crawdaddy on Friday, May 5 from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Warren Averett CPA & Advisors in Destin. Event proceeds benefit young families in need through Food For Thought, Harvest House, Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast and education support for Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s outreach and The Rotary Club of Destin Scholarship Funds.
“What better way to catch the Cajun spirit and Cinco de Mayo theme than being a part of the 5th Annual Cajun Crawfish Bash which captures the famous Louisiana expression, Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler. The Rotary Club of Destin is known for serving up the best Cajun crawfish, libations and live music,” said Destin Rotary Club President, Jason Belcher. “This event represents the club’s significant annual fundraiser to benefit several non-profit organizations that support our mission to eradicate hunger in the local area and support youth education in our community.” Attendees can enter an incredible raffle drawing for themed packages from beach activities, bourbon baskets, concert tickets, golfing, restaurants, to vacation stays – all to help fund the growing needs of our club’s charitable causes.
The public is invited to join in the Cajun festivities, suitable for families of all ages. Fresh crawfish from Louisiana will be dished up with the traditional potatoes and corn on the cob. For those who don’t crave crawfish, there will also be grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and barbeque chicken prepared fresh on-site.
This year’s live entertainment featuring the Fais Do-Do Band guarantee to get your feet moving! This unique genre of zydeco music was originally created at house dances where families and friends gathered for socializing. Today it integrates a blend of R&B, soul, brass band, reggae, hip hop, ska, rock and Afro-Caribbean.
Club President, Jason Belcher remarked “Destin Rotarians are totally engaged in this fundraiser to help four local charities whose initiatives are a perfect fit for the club’s mission of eradicating hunger and educational outreach to empower populations serving youth, special needs and wounded soldiers in our community. In addition, this event will also support the Destin Rotary Scholarship Fund to deserving high school graduates, providing financial assistance for them to attend colleges and universities across the country.

Tickets are now on sale for $30 per person and $10 for children under 12 or free to kids age three and under. Day of event, tickets are $35 per person.
