DeFuniak Springs, Fla— Forty grams of ICE methamphetamine is off the streets of Walton County following a traffic stop in DeFuniak Springs thanks to a joint effort of multiple departments within the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Just before 4PM Tuesday afternoon a traffic stop was conducted by WCSO patrol deputies near the intersection of Coy Burgess Loop and Highway 331. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office VICE unit was investigating the driver, Ross Nolan, 41.
Deputy Kristin Pond and K9 Kayne were called to the scene and Kayne alerted to the vehicle during a free air sniff. A subsequent investigation of the vehicle uncovered four Oxycotin, which Nolan did not have a prescription for, $2400 in U.S. currency, and 1.2 grams of marijuana.
As he was being taken into custody Nolan was asked to remove his boots and inside were multiple bags of finished product of ICE methamphetamine totaling 40 grams.
“We continue our fight to get drugs off the streets of Walton County,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “This is exceptional work done by all facets of our agency.”
Nolin was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Additional charges are pending.
