FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – November 7, 2014 On December 17, 2014 Alaqua Animal Refuge and The Old Florida Fish House are teaming up with 20 local artists and businesses for the first ever “Alaqua Wreath Auction” to raise much needed funds for the Panhandle’s premier animal rescue organization. At 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, auctioneer  “Redd”  The Singing Bartender from Redds Fueling Station will present 20 wreaths created by local artists, businesses, and individuals especially for this event. The wreaths, some of which will be packaged with bonus items and gift certificates, will each go to the highest bidder during this festive holiday fundraiser for Alaqua. Alaqua Animal Refuge, an independent, nonprofit organization that advocates the general welfare and humane treatment of animals, is currently involved in a capital campaign that has a dollar-for-dollar matching grant of up to $500,000 through December 31, 2014.  All money raised will go twice as far to support Alaqua’s efforts in continuing to help animals in need.
