Learn about how to prepare for an evacuation when you have pets. Dr. Tonia Shatzel of 30A Vet will be on-site micro-chipping pets at a discounted rate and all proceeds will go to Alaqua. So brings your pets to have them chipped for just $45! DOG AGILITY TRYOUTS from 10:00 – 11:00. Bring your dog and for just $5, they can try out on the agility course! All proceeds go to Alaqua Animal Refuge. The 2014 Hurricane Season is here and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Walton County Emergency Management and Alaqua Animal Refuge are teaming up to prepare Walton County pet owners to have a plan in place in the event of an evacuation. Do you have an evacuation plan for your pets? Whether your pets are big or small, make sure: • their immunizations are current and you have a copy of their records • they have a proper identification tag • they have a safe place to stay Alaqua Animal Refuge, the Walton County Sheriff’s Department, and Walton County Emergency Management are hosting an event to educate pet owners and get them the information they need about: • disaster supply kits for pets • evacuation shelter information • pet-friendly lodging • how to protect large animals We look forward to seeing everyone there.
