EMERALD COAST THEATRE COMPANY PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPNathanael Fisher Will Travel to Tampa to Attend Workshop at the Patel Conservatory in Tampa June 6-8Miramar Beach, Fla. (May 22, 2014) — Nathanael Fisher, co-founder and producing artistic director of Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC), recently was selected by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs to participate in a hands-on workshop presented by the leaders of the Creative Capital Foundation. The three-day professional development workshop, held at the Patel Conservatory in Tampa, Fla., is only open to a select group of qualified professional artists.The workshop is designed to provide selected artists with valuable skills and training to ensure that their creative careers are sustainable. It will cover topics such as strategic planning, marketing and promoting your work, and fundraising. In addition to the information on each of the topic areas, participants benefit from the interaction with the diverse group of participating artists. Materials are provided to artists who participate and time for one-on-one consultations with leaders are made for each artist throughout the weekend. “I am honored to have been chosen as one of the 24 artists who are participating in this prestigious program, “said Nathanael Fisher, producing artistic director for ECTC. “I am excited to receive training from the best of the best on how to lead ECTC as well as develop my own artistry as a theater director and playwright.”Creative Capital is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing integrated financial and advisory support to artists pursuing adventurous projects in multiple disciplines. Through their Professional Development Program, which has been developed by artists for artists, Creative Capital has provided career, community and confidence building tools to help all artists become successful in their fields. In its first 10 years, the program has reached more than 5,500 artists in 150 communities. The Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs has been partnering with Creative Capital to present professional development workshops in Florida since 2007. These workshop opportunities are offered to selected artists free of charge through generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Citizens for Florida Arts, Inc. and the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs. This participation is equivalent to a $1,200 award.Fisher formed ECTC in 2012 as a 501(c)(3) with a mission to enrich and entertain the Emerald Coast community through professional and educational theater. “I am thrilled with how our educational programs are growing and the positive responses we have received from both students and parents.
