The National Weather Service out of Tallahassee has released information that Walton County and the surrounding area can expect to experience heavy rainfall and areal and river flooding during Friday, April 18th.
A significant storm event weather system is currently working its way into the area and is expected to have its greatest impact on Walton County beginning early Friday morning into Friday night. Areas of high water or flooding that already exist may get worse and rises are expected on most rivers in North Florida.
Currently it is not expected that the Choctaw River will get much worse but inland flooding will likely be an issue as the ground is already saturated from storms earlier this week and ditches are full.
Roadway flooding will also be probable.
Walton County Public Works crews will be on standby anticipating the impending weather.
