In an effort to deter and prevent auto burglaries throughout Walton County, the Crime Prevention Unit of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has implemented a program called HIDE, LOCK, TAKE. 

The premise is simple: HIDE your things, LOCK your car and TAKE your keys.  The program has been implemented throughout the United States and Canada where there has been a dramatic reduction in auto thefts and car break-ins. 

Residents of Walton County will soon be seeing flyers circulated throughout their neighborhoods which will be conducted by members of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit, Citizen Posse and Sheriff’s Deputies.
