Beware of Scams
A citizen contacted the Walton County Sheriff’s Office stating that he received a call from an individual claiming to be from Best Buy who needed his information for an “account update”. Luckily the citizen found the call suspicious and did not release any personal information. After the phone call, the citizen called back the number and was denied his request to speak to a supervisor. The citizen immediately contacted Best Buy’s Fraud Department and confirmed that the number provided was not affiliated with Best Buy.
The caller’s location is unknown.
