(Santa Rosa Beach) – In every corner of our country, emergency medical services (EMS) personnel are hard at work delivering hope and care to Americans in dire circumstances. In the face of chaos and tragedy, their steady hands provide vital, life-saving services, and their calm under pressure delivers comfort to neighbors in need. During this 40th Annual National Emergency Medical Services Week May 19th– May 25th we pause to offer our gratitude to these remarkable men and women, whose dedication is fundamental to our society's well-being.

The theme of this year’s National EMS Week is "One Mission, One Team” This was chosen to recognize the commitment that emergency medical personnel make to the communities they serve and to honor the dedication of those men and women who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's "front line.

“We recognize the tremendous role that our SWFD personnel make to improve health in our community. Recently the State of Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) conducted a random, unannounced inspection of our EMS Operations. The results were “Excellence in all phases of the inspection”. We are extremely proud of our men and women that make this possible”, said Operations Chief Ryan Crawford.

“SWFD personnel are committed to delivering emergency medical care in the community. We strive for seamless care, from the field to the hospital emergency department or trauma center. Our commitment to ensuring that patients receive the best medical care available, anytime and anywhere, is instrumental to advancing the health, safety, and well-being of our community. SWFD pledges to maintain this high level of Prompt, Competent, Caring Response in Time of Need”, said Fire Chief Rick Talbert.
