Santa Patrol applications due November 24th For Immediate Release November 6, 2012 It’s that time of year again! The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is beginning to prepare for the holiday season. Santa Patrol, a program in which the community donates toys and money for the purchasing of gifts for local needy children, is in its 15th season and going strong. Those interested in applying for this service will need to arrive on November 24, 2012 at the DeFuniak Springs Civic Center between the hours of 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Applications will be given out on a first come first serve basis. All applicants will be checked for duplication services with other organizations out of fairness to others who are not already receiving assistance. There will be limited child care provided on site. There will be no applications distributed at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Applications must be filled out on the date and location listed above. Sgt. Danny Garner, who is overseeing the program this year, says that they are accepting new/unopened toys for stockings for donations, as well as money. Checks will be accepted and should be made out to Wal-Mart and “Santa Patrol” written in the note at the bottom of the check. “This is a chance for the public to make a Walton County child’s Christmas a little brighter. The generosity and kindness of those who donate never ceases to amaze me. To see the look on a family’s face knowing that they won’t have to go without is the greatest gift of all.” If you are interested in donating to this worthy cause, contact Sgt. Danny Garner at (850) 892-8186. For Further Information Contact: Inv. Wendy C Ammons Public Information Officer Walton County Sheriff’s Office (850) 951-4707 (office) (850) 855-0299 (cell)
