AMERICA’S BOATING COURSE OFFERED
A ONE DAY America’s Boating Course will be conducted on Saturday, October 23, beginning at 8:30am at the Anchorage, 404 Green Acres Road in Fort Walton Beach.
The 8 hour course is conducted by experienced local boaters, covers safe boat handling, seamanship, rules of the road, aids to navigation and piloting, tips about local waters, and more. Completion of the course satisfies state license requirements for boaters born after September 30, 1980, and may entitle boat owners to discounts on boat insurance. Since its inception, more than 3 million persons have taken the boating course nationally.
Registration is available by calling 850-315-0686. The course is sponsored by the Fort Walton Sail and Power Squadron, a unit of the United States Power Squadrons. There is a small charge for the course.
Persons completing the course will be offered a free 6 month membership in the Fort Walton Sail and Power Squadron.
