Local residents of Santa Rosa Beach Florida are voicing concerns over reports of problems when calling the Gulf Coast Claims Facility 800 number help line. Frustrated claimants have been contacting the local television station, 30a Television, which broadcasts on Mediacom Channel 8 on the Florida Panhandle.
“All I wanted to get was an update on my claim, said Michelle Allen, local resident. But it was very difficult to understand and it seemed like she was just reading from a sheet. I cant believe in this economy that something this important would be sent overseas. I was really shocked.”
30a Television confirmed the report by calling the 800 number as displayed on the Gulf Coast Claims Facility website. “The person I talked to was fairly helpful, said Paul Vizard, Ceo of 30a Television, but he had limited information available. I was under the impression that the claims processing was being handled in Ohio.”
30a Television cameras were not permitted in the local claims office, and a representative declined to comment.
