Deep Fried Love Fest: Seagrove Village MarketCafé’s 75th Anniversary Celebration

The iconic Seagrove Village MarketCafé will celebrate its 75th anniversary with Deep Fried Love Fest on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The community is invited to come out for this joyous celebration filled with family fun, music, delightful drinks, and deep-fried love!

Registration for Seagrove Village MarketCafé’s Deep Fried Love Fest is free for entry and includes a generous tasting of the restaurant’s most beloved dishes such as hushpuppies, grouper sliders, shrimp po’boys, gumbo, key lime pie and more! A cash bar will be available for those wishing to take part in refreshing libations.

Teams and individuals will face off in the George-Normous Po’boy Challenge beginning at 1:30 p.m. This monstrous po’boy is loaded with four pounds of deep-fried goodness including fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried grouper, andouille sausage, fried pickles, fried onions and more. The cost to enter the George-Normous Po’boy Challenge is $50 per person or team. To win the challenge, the entire po’boy must be eaten within one hour for individuals or thirty minutes for teams of two. Solo winners will receive one (1) George-Normous t-shirt and one (1) $75 gift card to Seagrove Village MarketCafé! Partner teams that complete the challenge will win two (2) George-Normous t-shirts and one (1) $50 gift card to Seagrove Village MarketCafé. To add to the fun, attendees can participate in a curated scavenger hunt that takes customers back in time. For 75 years, this beloved establishment has been a haven for locals and visitors alike, offering delicious cuisine and a genuine sense of warmth and belonging. Every clue, every challenge, and every hidden treasure to discover is a testament to the love that has been poured into this place over the decades. The scavenger hunt will kick off at Deep Fried Love Fest and go through November 22, 2024. Those who successfully complete the scavenger hunt will have their choice of a Seagrove coffee mug, 75th Anniversary tee shirt, Seagrove Cookbook, or dessert. One lucky participant will be chosen to win free po’boys for a year on November 22, 2024.

Spitfire Entertainment will be providing vibrant tunes throughout the event. This event will be block party style, taking place in the parking lot of Seagrove Village MarketCafé. Parking and valet services will be available during the event with overflow parking available at Regions bank. Additionally, the restaurant will be open for general business during the hours of 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
