We haveSONY DSC chosen Winnie for the pet of the week. If you are able to put his photo and story in print, we would greatly appreciate it! His photo is attached. “My name is Winston, but you may call me Winnie. They tell me I am a perfect Pug, sweet, playful, and a well mannered gentleman. I’m about 5years old. Life took a turn that I wasn’t expecting, and I ended up at Alaqua. I am one of 500 dogs/year that are diagnosed with a condition called Diabetes. This is an easily treatable disease, but it is especially challenging to manage in a shelter environment. Now, that you know all about me, I have a favor to ask. I need a home of my own. I don’t require too much, just a dedicated human to help me manage my newly diagnosed condition. With the proper care, it can be easily controlled. Diabetics, once stabilized can live a normal and healthy life. Can you spare a little room in your heart to help out a Pug in need? Foster, adopt, or contribute, Just one look at my face, and you’ll  know that I will be grateful for anything. With a little help from my friends, I just know I’ll be back to my “pug-a-licious” self!” Thank you so much! Kelby Schweickert Adoptions Coordinator Alaqua Animal Refuge (850)880-6399
