Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center announces new director of development
Niceville, FL (February 29, 2016)…The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) announced Kim Henderson will be their new director of development effective May 1.
Graduating from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing, Henderson is the consummate professional who knows all about the nonprofit sector. Whether it’s handling events, volunteers, patrons or fund raising, she’s done it all for years. From working with David M. Costa Enterprises, Inc. and Villere, Inc. (dba McDonalds) as their marketing/special events coordinator; the area manager of Okaloosa, Walton and Bay counties for the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Florida; to most recently serving as the executive director of Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Henderson has a wealth of experience.
As well, she has volunteered with more than ten nonprofits in Northwest Florida, including Junior League of the Emerald Coast, Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, United Way and Hospice of Northwest Florida to name a few.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with ECCAC and their staff, board of directors, supporters, volunteers and the community,” said Henderson. “And, most important, to try and make a positive difference for the children.”
ECCAC CEO Julie Hurst has known Henderson for years and commented, “Having Kim on board is a win-win for everyone involved. I know her stellar capabilities first-hand and she will be such an asset to our ECCAC organization and the kids.”
ECCAC’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect, protect children in Okaloosa and Walton Counties, and restore the lives and futures of these impacted children. In their 15-year history, 40,000 direct services have been provided in a child-friendly environment to the children and their families and more than 10,000 children have received mental health services. Services are provided at no cost by the nonprofit organization.
