Alaqua Animal Refuge Pet of the Week – Ebro! My name is Ebro, and “I ain’t nothing but a hound dog”! Unlike the hound dog Elvis sang about, I’m not “cryin’ all the time”! In fact, I’ve also been selected as “Mr. Congeniality”. I’m the most popular guy on the playground! The volunteers frequently pair me with the new and shy dogs that arrive at the refuge. My thoughtful and kind personality is helpful in reassuring the new arrivals who may feel apprehensive.
I suppose you could call me a therapy dog, as my helpful ways seem to comfort and assist the new pups in learning to play and trust again. I’m thankful to live at Alaqua Animal Refuge. They have taken very good care of me and even sent me to the Unconditional Love Program in a prison! There I quickly learned all of my commands, and now I am a well mannered hound dog. I can also be goofy and play when time allows. I learned that there is a time for play and a time for rest. I love sitting with the volunteers as they rub my belly and the velvety soft fur of my ears. My coat is easy to care for and I always keep my kennel clean and tidy.
I have mastered all of the requirements to be called a good dog, I am friendly, happy, well behaved, and most of all obedient and devoted. The only thing I need now is a family to share my love.
