Panama City Beach Short-Term Rentals to Reopen on May 19

-Bay County Executes Full Phase 1-

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla., May 19, 2020 – Bay County’s safety plan has officially been approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations, allowing visitors to occupy short-term vacation rentals in Panama City Beach starting on May 19th. On Friday, May 15th, Governor Ron DeSantis requested that Florida counties each submit a safety plan to reopen vacation rentals in their communities.

Panama City Beach also began executing full phase 1 on May 18th, allowing 50% occupancy in restaurants, museums, libraries and retail stores. In addition, gyms and personal services such as hair salons are now open, and sports facilities can hold practices. However, amusement parks and attractions must submit safety plans to receive endorsement from local officials in order to reopen.

“Panama City Beach will be implementing new practices and precautionary measures moving forward to ensure that everyone traveling to the destination will do their part in the recovery effort,” says President and CEO of Visit Panama City Beach Dan Rowe. “While challenging and unprecedented, we ask that our visitors continue following safety and health precautions from the CDC, not only to safeguard themselves and their families, but also to protect locals and fellow visitors.”

Social distancing protocols will continue to be enforced, including maintaining group size to under 10 individuals and having a six-foot separation between groups. For more information regarding protections, visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/visitors.html.
