John Gorka, the acclaimed songwriter widely regarded as “one of contemporary folk music’s leading talents” (Vintage Guitar), will be making two appearance at the 30A Songwriter Festival this year.  He’s also announced the release of his first new album in over four years, Bright Side of Down. The album’s 12 songs are beautifully produced and sequenced from beginning to end. With guest vocal appearances by Red House labelmates Lucy Kaplansky, Eliza Gilkyson, Claudia Schmidt and Michael Johnson, the collection resonates with the classic, “Gorka-esque” sound and lyrical insight that’s earned him generations of devoted fans and a career that’s found him gracing the stages of PBS’ Austin City Limits, NPR’s Mountain Stage and venues worldwide. Gorka has announced North American tour dates through fall 2014. Complete tour dates are at gorka You can download the first single from the album, “Holed Up Mason City,” here. 30A FESTIVAL DATES  Saturday 1/18/14 at Messina’s 9:00 PM 7 Town Center Loop Gulf Place Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 Phone: 850-267-9020 Sunday  1/19/14 at the Boathouse 9:30 PM 238 WaterColor Way Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 For press or interview requests contact: Angie Carlson Propeller Publicity Red House Records, Inc.  |  PO Box 4044, St. Paul, MN 55104 Phone:  (651) 644-4161 |  Fax: (651) 644-4248 |
