Subject: travel advisory I have just received noticed from our communications center that they are being overwhelmed by calls from the public in regards to smoke settling into South Walton county. The communications center is aware of the situation and according to them, Eglin Air Force Base conducted a controlled burn today and the smoke from this controlled burn is now entering the Santa Rosa Beach area. Motorist on Hwy 98 should be made aware that smoke is in the area. The roads are still passable at this time. The county currently is working to get messages boards out to warn drivers.
