Panama City Creative Con Less than Two Weeks Away Creative Con focuses on education and exploring creative career paths with a fun filled day exploring sequential art and geek culture.
Of course no Con is complete without costumes. Whether you want to admire someone’s works of art, learn how to create your own or show off what you have put together, this is the Con for you. We are starting and ending this year’s event with costuming.
Panama City Creative Con begins with SUIT UP! Friday, July 31 at 6:00 p.m. at the Amelia G. Tapper Center for the Arts. The gallery exhibit features the works of Panama City Beach-based costumer maker and cosplayer Brian Parsley, featuring graphic styling by the Public Eye. Brian has been making costumes for more than 30 years with his works appearing in Wizard Magazine, Marvel.com and Huffington Post. The exhibit will also be open on Saturday during the Con.
In addition we have cosplay professionals and groups that will have tables; C&C Cosplay, Drocelle Cosplay, Eitanya Designs, Buurenaar Verda Clan of the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club and 501st Legion Florida Garrison Parjai Squad all participating in Creative Con. Related panels include: “Polishing the Look” with Jessica St. Hill, “+1 to Armor Crafting”’ presented by Eltanya Designs and “Fx, Makeup and Props” by C&C Cosplay.
Creative Con will culminate with the General Division Costume Contest starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Amelia G. Tapper Center for the Arts building. Pre-judging will begin at 4:30 pm. Registration closes out at 4:00 p.m. The Junior Division Costume Contest registration ends at 3:00 p.m. with the contest at 3:30 p.m. There will be prizes for the winners in both divisions.
Education- Learning and exploring creative careers is what sets Creative Con apart!

About
Creative Con is entering its 6th year as a community event, with each year seeing significant growth. What started with six artists doing free sketches in the foyer of the Bay County Public Library has grown into a creative convention which brings artists and attendees from all over the tri-state area and fills Gulf Coast State College’s campus with vivid costumers and the sounds of celebration.
Not only does Panama City Creative Con foster career development for aspiring artists and creatives, it is purposed to encourage young people to pursue their passions and develop the valuable tools they already have in their love for the creative realms.
Creative Con is supported by our partners; the Bay County Library Foundation, Gulf Coast State College Visual & Performing Arts, Bay Arts Alliance, CareerSource Gulf Coast, WonderWorks, WMBB News 13, Arena Comics & Gaming, Boogie Tracks and Public EyeSOAR.
